The Settlers – Day 2

Food Provision

The day began exactly as the previous one began: full of shortages and with a lot to do. After sunset we noticed that many people are still working on the water supply without a moment’s rest during the night. Thanks to this sacrifice, we are hopeful that the water issue can be solved more definitively. However, something that has become even more urgent, given the amount of work and the journey so far, as well as the many children and nursing mothers, is hunger. Hunger is a concern that will intensify as the hours and days go by and will make it increasingly difficult to reach agreements.

While some have some provisions, the vast remainder have no food. The search for plants, roots or seeds for sowing could take us many days and their harvest several months. And in the city it will not be possible to get food without having anything to offer in return. We decided to discuss the problem among all of us to look for immediate solutions, as well as medium and long term ones.
